Hello I just wanted to come on here and seek some help as I have had a large amount of strange and interesting occurrences happen in my life. Everything I will write to you has been recalled fully consciously and not from dreams. I am here to seek help from others and hopefully find a hypnotherapist that can assist me in recalling the rest of my experiences as I fear I am passing on these occurrences to my wife and children and would just like to know as much as possible about what has happened so that when(if) my children come to me with these fears and concerns I can help them out.
Winter when I was much younger, 12, so 1993, I remember this being the years because the only person I could talk to was my 6Th grade teacher at school as my parents ridiculed me when I voiced my fears. Anyway I woke up, not sure what time it was, sat up in bed. At this time I shared a room with my 2 brothers (I slept on top of a bunk bed). I remember thinking that that moon was insanely bright and it must have snowed to help the moon reflect so brightly when all of a sudden a shadow ran across the window. (this window had a shade pulled down on it so that I couldn't see outside. However I was able to see a shadow due to the amount of light coming in through the shade). I can remember thinking Oh S*** we're being robbed. I had no idea what I was supposed to do I just sat there in my bed staring at the shade. I began to hear what I thought was footsteps or something hitting against the house outside of my house moving closer to the window. I was so scared that I couldn't move couldn't breathe and thought my heart was gonna explode because it was beating so fast. Then I saw the shade being pushed forward and I laid down pretending to be asleep. I don't remember the window opening or anything like that just that the shade was being pushed. I heard footsteps on the floor below me and strange voices which were speaking a language I did not understand. I heard my brothers begin to thrash about in bed and make quiet moaning noises of pain. They went downstairs and my dog began to bark loudly and then he yelped all of a sudden and everything was quiet. I did not hear anything for a good amount of time then there was a high pitched whirring sound and I began to hear them coming back to my room, I do not know how many where however. Then the whirring went away as did the light. I breathed a sigh of relief as it was over, until one more ran across my room yelling and went out the window and around to the front of the house. I could hear his voice remaining at the same height as the window regardless of the fact the there is no roof on that side of the house. That fear instantly came back to me as this individual came back in my room, went to my parents room and then up into our attic. I heard him walking around above me and then everything was silent. I laid there still as I could staring at the ceiling replaying the events in my head forcing myself to remember every detail possible till exhaustion took over and I fell back asleep.
The next day I didn't focus much at all at school just kept replaying it all in my head, the light, the voices, the shadows, the fact that one was left behind. I refused to believe that was part actually happened. That even if at first he was left, the others must have come back to get him when I was sleeping again. Anyway that evening My Aunt brought all of us to Barnes and Noble to pick out a book that we wanted to read. I don't recall what I got as this event was nothing compared to was was still in my mind. Especially now that it was dark out. My Aunt dropped us off at our house and for some reason I looked up in the sky. I saw 5 red lights moving across the sky in a V shape much like geese fly. I thought that it was awkward for a plane to have all red lights as I was to believe the lights were supposed to be different colors to show traveling direction and other things. Anyway I stared at the sky for a few seconds when all of a sudden the first light swapped places with the rear light on the left side. I became instantly terrified and followed everyone in the house. At this time it was around 8 pm because we all changed and went to bed. I don't know whether or not I fell asleep that night but I can recall hearing that Whirring noise over and over again getting loud and soft as if it was circling over the house. At about 11 I went downstairs and told my mom and dad that tonight I saw a UFO in the sky coming back from the bookstore and that there were aliens in the house last night. My father said I was being ridiculous. He told me I was too old to be scared of the dark and to get my butt back in bed. I did as I was told. I fell asleep. I woke up later not knowing how much time had past, but I woke up to footsteps in the attic moving around. I hid under my covers and as the footsteps came down the attic stairs they then passed through my room and out the window. I do not remember any more of that evening.
The next night I woke up in the middle of the night and saw 4 shadows on the ceiling of my room walking out the window. To be honest this image of shadows was so bright that when I closed my eyes I could still see the figures leaving. Also for some reason this incident was so frightening for me that literally I saw this image for years every time I closed my eyes.
I did not know why this was happening, what was happening, and most of all I did not know who to talk to about this. I needed to talk to someone, someone to tell me I was normal. We kept journals at school and I figured that I could write it and it would help, so I did, I wrote it in little pieces. Till a few days later my teacher asked to talk to me when all the other kids went to lunch. He said he was very interested in what I was writing and wanted to know if I had more to tell. I said there was a lot more and he asked if I wanted to stay in the classroom to write about it instead of going to recess, and I did. He read my stories and talked to me about them but not much else came from that except for the fact that it helped me with dealing with the anxiety and stress.
I don't recall how much later the next instance occurred but I do remember waking up to the bright light outside the instant fear and everything emotionally that went on with the prior occurrences. This time turned out much different however. After they entered the house through the window, my bed began to shake slightly. This scared me more than I ever thought possible as I knew that one was climbing up the ladder at the foot of my bed. I laid there looking down covers up against my neck staring at the foot of the bed until I saw a hand reach up over the edge of the bed. I shut my eyes as tight as I could. I felt the weight of something step on my mattress and walk toward where my head was. I don't know how much time passes or if any passed at all. All I can remember is opening my eyes and seeing these 2 big liquid black eyes about and inch from my face. I closed them again. Actually I don't remember opening them in the first place I just remember the image I described all of a sudden being present but I do remember shutting my eyes. When I opened my eyes the next time It was dark I was in my bed everything was quite and I had my covers pulled up over my face. I thought hard about the image of the hand the face and the feeling of the weight on the bed as I knew I had to.
After this instance I don't recall anything else that can honestly say if fully conscious except the countless instances of waking up being paralyzed and unable to talk. Also Waking and knowing someone is there.
After these instances occurred I developed some habits, nothing strange in general just strange for me. I woke up every night sometime between 1 and 3 for about 14 years. And I mean every night. When I woke up I would have to sneak out of bed look out all the windows in my room. Turn on the hallway light and turn on the TV in my room. Sometimes I was so scared that I would even go downstairs search the house turn on the backyard lights go outside look around that house before coming back to bed.
There are many things I can recall that I can not for sure say really happened however the strength, vividness, emotion and details I can recall of these memories leads me to believe they did occur. Here they are in no particular order.
- I recall being in the middle of my backyard in the winter time snow all around me. I look at a tree in the back of the yard and see a snow owl. As I look at this owl I thought to myself how pretty it was, and how beautiful nature is, then quickly I remembered snow owls don't live in Massachusetts. They live in the arctic. That is all I can remember of this event.
-I recall awaking one night paralyzed and scared but drifting back to sleep. Then I felt my arms begin to raise and I woke up again and my arms fell. I tried to fight away the sleep but I began to doze off again and again my arms began to raise and I awoke and they dropped. I remember thinking that I cant keep this up all night and began to go to sleep. I remember feeling my body begin to move and I couldn't wake up not matter how hard I tried . then all of a sudden I did and what I saw was my floor and then my window sill then the roof outside my window. I remember thinking, Oh my God they are taking me. That was all for this event.
-As I mentioned I always turned on the hallway light every night. I can recall many nights they wouldn't turn on. When nothing would turn on.
Anyway I met my wife when I was 26 and one day she said she had to tell me something and ask what I thought of it, but to not laugh at her and judge her. I agreed and she told me that last night she woke up and saw a funny light outside near the neighbors house the light moved and she instantly thought to herself and said out loud "They saw me"
I told her I was worried and knew what was going on. I told her everything I just told all of you and said I was worried because of what she said, "They" I explained to her that her knowing that the light was more than just a light means that she has had other experiences and can just not remember them.
To this day we continue to have strange feelings in the house some nights. She has had many occurrences none of which she can guarantee are her conscious recollection but she says she know they have happened. Most recently I wake to my son and daughter screaming at the top of their lungs for no known reason. At first I thought they were just having night terrors which is normal, but I changed my opinion when my wife asked me to talk to my son about his imaginary friend. Which I did. His friend comes to see him in the middle of the night and he is not supposed to talk about him. They play and talk about stuff (he didn't go into detail about what they talk about, he is only 3 after all). I asked him if his friend had a name he said yes, his name was Shwendy. I asked if Shwendy hurts him and he said sometimes. I tried to talk to him more but he being a 3 yr old got distracted and I wasn't able to get him to continue on with the subject.
So here I am looking for answer and help. If anyone can help and lead me in a direction to get help. If you know of a good hypnotherapist I would like to speak to them. I know what it could lead to I know the problems that may occur and how it could change everything. I just need to know. Thank you.
